From the youngest possible age, I was competing in team and individual sports: Football, Rugby, Tennis, Basketball, Golf, Swimming, Athletics & more. Every day of the week my poor parents ferried me around Hampshire multiple times a day. This is where my love for sport & fitness began. At the age of 14 I was known as the pretty boy at Rugby – basically I was the quick one (skinny & weak) with flashy boots, I didn’t do much except kick the ball over the posts every so often and run past a few players. At 16 years old, I made a bold decision to give up my passion and start going to the gym, as I was half the size of my team mates. I came back 2 years later with strength & confidence.
My Uni course was heavily focused on exercise, nutrition & disease prevention which only grew my passion for wanting to improve the populations health as a career path. I then completed the necessary personal training qualifications whilst investing more time, effort & money into completing further courses to improve my learning & application to coaching.
Throughout my failures growing up I’ve developed as a character, the mind set I adopted as a teenager - which sounded something like: “I’ll get this coursework done in 1 hour then I get more time to play footie this afternoon”, has done a full 180 and I’m now trying to come up with excuses to not go out!
My skills as a coach are improving daily. I aim to educate & inspire my clients but also keep the relationship relaxed, informal & enjoyable. I believe these points are key in reinforcing drive & purpose to my clients so they can get the best out of their time working with me.
I spend a lot of time developing my self, I see everyday as a chance to improve, do more & do better. I continue to self-educate through my reliable online sources as I have true drive to make a difference in this industry.
